We invite you to send your questions about the Park Street Media Center to us by email.
Hours
The Media Center follows the school schedule, normally 8:15 AM through 3:15 PM
Borrowing Privileges
Students may keep library materials for two weeks. We do not charge overdue fines; however, fees are incurred for lost or damaged items.
Resources
The Media Center has computers for student use. All library functions are fully automated. Students use the automated catalog to locate any material in the library. The Media Center catalog is available to any classroom in the building through the school computer network.
We participate in the Accelerated Reader Program, which was designed to encourage students to read at the appropriate reading level. Books that are too easy do not encourage growth; books that are too difficult cause frustration. The most productive level is in-between books that are both pleasurable and challenging.
Media Center Rules
Using the Library
Library hours are from 8:15 am-3:15 pm.
At Park Street Elementary, we hope that students would like to be "Library Helpers" and not "Library Hurters." We ask that all users of the library follow our simple rules:
- Follow directions.
- Get permission to come to the Media Center from your teacher.
- Wear a pass around your neck when coming to the Media Center.
- Please use a Magic Stick when taking books off the shelves. If you decide you don't want the book, you know right where the book belongs.
- Walk in the Media Center and use a quiet voice.
- Leave all food and candy in the classroom.
- Please put books that you don't want on the Lost Books stickers.
Book Checkout
- Check-out is limited to two books.
- If books are overdue, they must be returned before new ones can be checked out.
- Books that are damaged or lost must be paid for.

Who Helps You In The Media Center?
Mrs. Nicole Renshaw
I am new to Georgia and new to elementary school. I have been a Media Specialist in Tampa, Florida for the past 11 years. I spent my first two years working in high school, and the last nine years at the middle school level. I am very excited to make the switch to elementary school.
I was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. My whole family still lives there so it is nice to be a car ride away. I graduated from the University of Louisville with a major in Criminal Justice and a minor in Police Administration. I received my Masters of Arts in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida. I have one little boy who just started Kindergarten.
Mrs. Cordell
I am a high school graduate and I was born in Victoria, Texas. I am married with one daughter, one son, six grandchildren and one dog. My hobbies are reading, crocheting and riding our Honda Goldwing. One interesting fact about me is that my husband and I have been married for 38 years.
